League Reaching Out to Senators to Spotlight Work of Credit Unions in Serving Military, Families Ahead of Thursday Hearing

Many of our Virginia-based credit unions proudly serve servicemembers and their families. The Senate Banking Committee will hold a hearing on Thursday titled, “Ensuring Financial Protection for Servicemembers, Veterans and Their Families.” Considering the good work of our credit unions, your League will submit a letter ahead of the hearing to spotlight Virginia credit unions’ long, proud record of service to members of the military and their families.

League Partnership Will Offer C-Suite Level Leadership Training to Member Credit Unions

The Virginia League is excited to announce a new partnership opportunity that delivers C-Suite level leadership development training for credit union professionals. We've partnered with the Carolinas Credit Union League to offer their Leadership Development Institute (LDI), now in its seventh year, which empowers current and rising credit union leaders with modern strategies for developing leadership and critical thinking skills. Applications must be submitted by Dec. 15.

CUNA Small CU Committee Collecting Success Stories; Small CUs Can Win Scholarship to GAC

CUNA’s Small Credit Union Committee is collecting small credit union “success stories” in order to share those strategies. As an incentive for small credit unions to participate, the committee will select the best entries, with those submitting the chosen stories receiving full scholarships to attend the 2024 Governmental Affairs Conference.
