August 23, 2022Following credit union and League advocacy efforts, Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-9th) has signed on to H.R. 6889 (Credit Union Board Modernization Act) as a co-sponsor. This bill revises the frequency of meetings required to be held by a federally chartered credit union's board of directors.

In meetings today with the offices of Sen. Tim Kaine and Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11), we covered a range of issues and legislation, including interchange, overdraft protection programs, and third-party examination authority for the National Credit Union Administration.
- League Announces Winners of State-Level Social Responsibility Awards
August 18, 2022The Virginia Credit Union League is pleased to announce the 2022 recipients of the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award, the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award and the Desjardins Awards for Financial Education. The awards are given annually at the state and national levels, with credit unions competing in categories based on their total assets.

- In Comment Letter to NCUA, League Notes Regulatory Relief Needed Well Beyond Simply Rules on the Books
