Reflecting on IGNITE 2024: Insight and Inspiration at The Wharf

Last week, the Virginia Credit Union League hosted our much-anticipated annual conference, IGNITE, from May 1-3, at the scenic InterContinental Washington D.C. Wharf. This event, marking the League's 90th anniversary, brought together over 150 credit union leaders from across Virginia to engage, learn, and network.

Enlightening Keynotes:

The conference featured insightful keynotes from Michelle Singletary, who shared valuable financial management strategies, and Jonathan Karl, who provided an in-depth political analysis.

Diverse Sessions and Workshops:

Attendees explored a variety of topics through sessions that covered regulatory challenges, financial technologies, and more, fostering lively discussions and new ideas. Some of these topics included Cybersecurity Trends, The Importance of Client Marketing for Credit Unions, Navigating 2024 and Beyond: Three Key Focus Areas, Digital Assets Adoption Opportunities for Financial Institutions, and Exploring AI for Credit Unions.

The exhibition floor was a hub of activity with cutting-edge products and services, featuring over 30 vendors, such as Waterlily, YHB, Engageware, Open Lending, PCBB, and Zest, and more.

Networking in Support of VACUPAC:

The League's first-ever sunset dinner cruise on the Potomac River brought together 145 credit union advocates in support of the Virginia Credit Union Political Action Committee (VACUPAC). Thanks to the generous support of dozens of credit unions, business partners, and vendors, we were able to raise over $19,000 for VACUPAC.
