UVA Community Credit Union Elevates Carolyn Burnett to Vice President of Business Banking

Carolyn BurnettUVA Community Credit Union proudly announces the promotion of Carolyn Burnett to the esteemed position of Vice President of Business Banking. Burnett's dedication and exceptional contributions since joining the Credit Union in November 2022 have been instrumental in propelling its mission forward.

 

During her tenure, Burnett spearheaded the creation of Elevate Small Business, a groundbreaking initiative that launched in August 2023. This innovative program has empowered local entrepreneurs, providing invaluable resources and support for their growth and success. Additionally, Burnett served as the driving force behind the successful implementation of the first Commercial Loan Origination System, nCino, completed ahead of schedule and under budget in January.

 

Joe Raichel, Chief Lending Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for Burnett's promotion, stating, "I'm thrilled to see Carolyn assume leadership of our Business Services team. Her unwavering dedication, coupled with her extensive experience and passion for our community, has been instrumental in strengthening the financial wellness of our business members and local neighborhoods. Carolyn will continue to excel in her new role, driving forward our mission of financial wellness and community enrichment."

 

In her new role, Burnett will continue to champion strategic initiatives, providing support and resources for small business loans while delivering tailored commercial banking solutions to our valued Business members. UVA Community Credit Union remains committed to partnering with local businesses, offering financing solutions for commercial real estate, construction, equipment, vehicle loans, and capital needs.

 

With over 17 years of experience as a commercial relationship manager and a decade serving the Charlottesville area, Burnett brings a wealth of expertise to her new position. A graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, she is currently pursuing further education in the UVA Project Management Graduate program.

 

Beyond her professional endeavors, Burnett is deeply committed to community enrichment. She actively serves on the board of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and the Community Investment Collaborative loan committee, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to uplifting local organizations. She served on the board of the Center for Nonprofit Excellence for more than 6 years prior, further exemplifying her commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
