HENRICO, Va., February 6, 2024 – Henrico Federal Credit Union will today celebrate the grand opening of the Financial Empowerment Center located in Regency Mall. The Financial Empowerment Center opened in partnership with Henrico County Public Schools in 2023. Mini workshops were offered in the summer of 2023, covering subjects ranging from Banking Budgets to Understanding Probate. The program has now evolved into full-time Personal Finance classes offered weekly with the support of the HCPS Adult Education Center.

The celebration begins at 4 p.m. on Feb. 6 at Regency Mall with an open house and a tour of the facility.

“We are excited to offer vital classes to the community. The more you understand the ins and outs of how finances work, the more empowered you are to make healthy choices in your journey. Before my own time at the credit union, I made a lot of mistakes that classes like these would have helped me to avoid. We are happy to pay it forward to the community with this new financial education facility,” said Charity Rupp, Financial Education and Marketing Manager at Henrico FCU.
