What is the Teacher Grant Program?
Each year, eligible teachers may apply for a grant of up to $500 to assist in funding innovative programs that positively impact school children in grades K - 12. At Blue Eagle, we are passionate about education, which is why this grant program is fully funded by Blue Eagle employees! It’s just one example of how our Blue Eagle family lives the credit union philosophy of people helping people.
In recent studies, we’ve learned that many teachers are spending an average of $500 out of their own pocket to create positive learning experiences for their students. We want to help alleviate some of this financial burden, and, in turn, assist in creating positive learning experiences that yield stronger communities.
Who can apply?
Elementary, Middle, and High School teachers (public or private) are welcome to apply for a Teacher Grant.
To be eligible, the teacher applying must be employed by a school located within the following areas that Blue Eagle Credit Union serves:
• Altavista, VA
• Craig County, VA
• Amherst County, VA
• Franklin County, VA
• Appomattox County, VA
• Lynchburg, VA
• Bedford, VA (County and Town)
• Roanoke, VA (City and County)
• Botetourt County, VA
• Salem, VA
• Campbell County, VA
• Vinton, VA
How and when do I apply?
The full list of details and requirements is available in the fall of each year on our website at BlueEagleCreditUnion.com/education-programs. Teacher Grant applications must be submitted online by Sunday, October 31, 2021.
