Duties:

ABNB Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Training & Development Specialist. The Training & Development Specialist is responsible for assisting in the assessment of individual, departmental and organizational training and development needs. Coordinates and delivers a variety of individual and group training programs and instructional methods based on the Credit Union's strategic initiatives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the Credit Union’s MSR, MSCR and MSR II training programs. Conducts overviews and/or training on ABNB history, products and services, systems, equipment, policies & procedures, and cross selling and service techniques; facilitates classroom and virtual interactions to ensure optimum engagement levels from participants.
  • Develops and maintains all MSR, MSCR and MSR II training materials to include handbooks, multimedia visual aids, power points, reference sheets, and tutorials; ensures all material is compliant and up to date in regards to policy and procedural changes. Evaluates program effectiveness and recommends changes in instructional methods. Ensures learning objectives meet training requirements.
  • Tracks the progress of new hires through self - assessments, routine tests, observation, and provides feedback to mentors/supervisors/managers; anticipates and recommends best practices to improve training programs, training environments, and company performance.
  • Completes self-training and development to maintain an understanding of Credit Union products, services and systems; as well as current training methods, technologies and techniques. Facilitates and trains multiple, diverse courses for large/small groups.
  • Assists with the development and design of training plans and programs. Leverages the Learning Management System to communicate programs; register participants; track attendance, participation, assessments; and monitor class workshops/simulations/eLearning offerings. Collaborate with others to plan and design courses and curriculum; ensures accuracy of content and tests multimedia elements.
  • Completes required reports and documents; attends meetings as required. Conducts needs assessments on request from departments or branches to provide customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Position Requirements

  • (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to include group presentation skills.
  • Must be able to operate related computer software and business equipment including PC, telephone, and other related training aids with speed and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook). DNA, Lending Software, Nautilus, and Activity Manager preferred.
  • Prior Member Service/Teller/Lending experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate training plans and courses.
  • Knowledge of member service standards and procedures.
  • General understanding of job functions and operations of Financial Institutions.
  • Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude is a must.
  • Possess a valid driver's license - reliable transportation required
  • Train internal team members on effective use of classroom materials including instructor lead and virtual training environments.
  • Conduct presentations for various groups including executive leadership.
  • Lead, guide, and mentor less experienced staff.
  • Ability to sit at a computer or stand to facilitate for extended periods of time and to lift/ carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Onsite training between various branch locations is required. Office and Remote Work
