ABNB Federal Credit Union is currently seeking a Staff Auditor. Under the direction of the Vice President of Internal Audit, assists in the development, documentation, and execution of a risk-based annual audit plan, which includes all branches, departments, and functions within the Credit Union. Assists in designing and implementing audit programs that test internal controls and compliance with regulations. Conducts audits of Credit Union operations to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, accuracy of financial records, adequacy of operations, and compliance with regulatory requirements; reports findings; and makes recommendations. Provides assistance to the Supervisory Committee members, external auditors, and examiners, as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Conducts testing of the Credit Union’s internal control systems, policies and operating procedures, incorporating narrative descriptions, flowcharts, memos, etc. Reports findings and recommends corrective measures and efficiencies.
  • Assists in the design and execution of the audit plan and programs that identify risks and evaluates internal controls, policies and operating procedures, and compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare audit reports that effectively communicates findings and recommendations for improvement or corrective action.
  • Keeps informed of all Credit Union policies and operating procedures.
  • Provides administrative support to the Supervisory Committee, external auditors, and examiners.
  • Completes assigned training courses within the time requirements established.


Position Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired.
  • (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Solid knowledge in all areas of accounting and audit procedures and the ability to work independently.
  • Must have a working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Must be able to operate a PC and all types of general office equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Physical qualifications include sitting at a computer for extended periods of time and being able to lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver’s license to travel between locations.
