Synergy One Federal Credit Union’s first core value is “Making a Positive Difference in the community.” This is accomplished in many ways through donations, financial education, and sponsorships. The Credit Union feels it especially important to support public schools and the programs in which they provide.

Synergy One Federal Credit Union has graciously sponsored the Battlefield High School Marching Band this year to help purchase equipment and music that will benefit the band and program as they prepare to perform at the All State Sugar Bowl Game in January of 2008. With over 100 students participating in this event, this donation is helping the Marching Bobcats to accomplish another goal, by competing at a national level.

The Battlefield Marching “Bobcats” Band, under the direction of Matt Brodt, its Director, Alicia Brodt, Auxiliary Coordinator, and Brandon Neal, Drum Line Coordinator, has taken multiple First Place titles in their class categories, including Musical Performance, Marching and Percussion.

An especially gratifying outcome of the bands hard work, persistence and discipline during the competitions is evident when they march on and off the fields in the Virginia region competitions. The Band has received either “First Place Overall” or “Grand Champion” recognition several times since it began with the opening of Battlefield High School in fall of 2004.
