(VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) FEBRUARY 10, 2010: Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union is proud to announce their participation in the Point In Time and Project Connect Day of Services. Each year in Virginia Beach, a Point In Time (PIT) count of homeless persons and families is conducted by Virginia Beach Homeless Advocacy and Resources Partnership (VBHARP), which is a network of non profits, faith-based, city and state organizations working together to end homelessness in our city. VBHARP works year round to provide services and housing to the homeless.
The staff at Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union rallied behind this project and donated 14 bags of supplies that were then distributed to the homeless at the Day of Services event on January 28th. “Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union strongly believes in giving back to our community,” said Geri Metzger, CEO of Beach Municipal FCU. “When our staff heard about this project, they were eager to help.”
Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union is a full service financial institution that has been serving Virginia Beach City employees, retirees, volunteers and their families since 1970. The Credit Union, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, boasts more than $100 million in assets and over 12,500 members.
