Bi-Lingual Community Relations Specialist

Arlington Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU), a $200 million dollar credit union located in Northern Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Bi-Lingual Community Relations Specialist.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Support the Community Relations Manager in fulfilling strategies for achieving member growth goals, developing relationships with Community Partners, and supporting and developing the In School Branch program.
  • Contribute to growing and developing the Hispanic membership community.
  • Responsible for assisting Community Relations Manager with on-site Community Partner enrollment meetings congruent with Community Relations Plan Goals.
  • Assists and supports new community partner acquisition efforts congruent with Community Relations Plan goals.
  • Regularly attends county wide events under direction of Community Relations Manager and acts as a professional liaison between community partners and the Credit Union.
  • Works with Marketing Specialist to create professional marketing materials for Community Partner events, In-School Branches (ISBs) and other business development activities.
  • Responsible for creating and delivering financial education seminars for Community Partners, schools, and general membership.
  • Responsible for progressively assuming a leadership role in the scheduling, training, administration and development of the In-School Branch program. Will work with Marketing Specialist to create and implement special marketing incentives at ISBs to increase new members.
  • Maintain the Arlington County Hispanic database for all Hispanic organizations and publications in Arlington County. Look for opportunities within these organizations for partnerships, event sponsorships and/or attend monthly meetings of the organization.
  • Create and distribute bi-monthly Hispanic newsletter for ACFCU Hispanic contacts.
  •  Minimum Qualifications:
    • Four year college degree or equivalent work experience in the area of Marketing, Communications, English or General Management.
    • Two to five years communications or public relations experience.
    • Must be bilingual Spanish.

    • Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions, if possible or directs them as necessary. Records and relays messages.
     
    • Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party.
     
    • Actively cross sells Credit Union products and services.
     
    • Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies, including types of available accounts, interest and dividend rates, payment options, and other related services.
                                         
    • Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed. Tracks insurance and titles for collateralized loans. Pulls credit reports.
         Qualifications Education/Certification:

    Sales & Lending Manager

    Vice President of Mortgage Lending

    Freedom First offers a full line of mortgage products including: FHA, VA, Conventional, Construction, and several in-house and affordable housing programs. We currently utilize broker, correspondent, and direct fulfillment strategies utilizing multiple investors including FreddieMac. We have an in-house FHA underwriter on staff and all management decisions are made locally.

    Qualified applicants will have a solid track record of leading a mortgage banking operation or a mortgage division within a supervised lender such as a credit union or bank.

    Candidates must be knowledgeable in government, conventional, VHDA, affordable housing programs, and be well versed in pipeline management and secondary market execution.
