

Northwest Federal Credit Union was recognized with an Honorable Mention Desjardins Award for its numerous financial education projects, including classroom presentations that reached more than 4,500 students during the 2006-2007 school year; its "Saving for College" and "Money Management for College Students" seminars; and its Reality Store workshops, designed to teach students real-world lessons on money management. The credit union was also praised for its "Pyramid Power Program," which provides age-appropriate programs and resources at the elementary, middle and high school levels, including the popular Sammy Rabbit savings program. Accepting the award from League President Rick Pillow on behalf of the credit union is Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation Director Linda Rogus.
