Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia Gala Dinner & Fundraiser (May 7)
![]() |
| On May 7, the Foundation will host a dinner and fundraiser, offering an overview of its efforts to date and its vision for the future. We’ ll honor contributors, and we would appreciate both individual and credit union contributions to the Foundation. |
We’re celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia, the non-profit formed last May by Virginia’s credit unions to support charitable, educational and community causes.
On May 7, the Foundation will host a dinner and fundraiser, offering an overview of its efforts to date and its vision for the future. We’ ll honor contributors, and we would appreciate both individual and credit union contributions to the Foundation.
Contributions made by March 26 will be included in the Foundation’s Annual
Report. If you can support the Foundation, either as an individual or
as a credit union, please forward checks/share drafts — made payable to the Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia — to:
Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia
PO Box 11469
Lynchburg, VA 24506
While the Foundation is still in its infancy, we are proud to have given
our first grant to further financial literacy, contributed $1,000 through the
Texas League Foundation to support victims of the Ft. Hood tragedy, and
just recently, donated $10,000 to support the work of the Salvation Army
and local food banks all across the Commonwealth.
The challenges of these economic times are unprecedented and has certainly affected our credit unions yet I think we would all agree that there hasn’t been a time of more need to reach out to the communities we serve.
The Credit Unions Care Foundation of Virginia is one way you can make a difference. Donations from you and your credit union allow us to work together to make a larger impact and get the word out that despite the economy, credit unions continue to embrace the “people helping people” philosophy.
Our collective credit union record is strong in being philanthropic leaders in our communities - together we have raised more than $1 million each year for charity and reach tens of thousands of students through our financial education efforts. The cooperative model has served us well.
Help us demonstrate credit union pride in being a real non-profit force in this great Commonwealth and send a donation today. Together we can channel the collective energy and fund-raising might of Virginia’s credit unions in service to our communities.
