Prior to working for Gold Key / PHR, Karen held roles in marketing and account management for the Executive Evaluation Center, Leni Enterprises, Inc., WVEC Channel 13 and Northwestern Mutual Life.
"Karen’s experience in marketing, event management, and in the philanthropic sector make her an excellent choice to lead our foundation at this time," said John Blum, chairman of the We Promise Foundation. "We feel fortunate to have found such a qualified, strategic leader who deeply and profoundly believes in the important work we do for heroic children battling life-threatening illnesses in the communities we serve."
The Foundation is currently working with WAVY TV-10 and FOX 43 to help raise money through a special Donation Challenge taking place through July 14th. Throughout the week, viewers will see commercials airing on WAVY TV-10 and FOX 43 – and banners on their websites – inviting them to make a donation to the We Promise Foundation.
Whether viewers donate $1 or $100, this campaign offers the Hampton Roads community – known for its incredible spirit of care and generosity - a rare opportunity to participate in a life-changing opportunity.
Following the Donation Challenge, the We Promise Foundation will be hosting its largest fundraising events of the year: the Diamonds in the Sky Gala and Charity Golf Classic taking place September 17th and 18th. Joining the foundation for the two-day benefit will be actress Teri Polo of ABC Family’s new hit series, The Fosters, musical sensations 38 Special, LPGA player Jill McGill and many more.
