DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) won 1st Place in the state-level Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action competition. The competition honors credit unions for their practical application of the “People-Helping-People” philosophy that is the hallmark of the credit union movement. It is sponsored by the Virginia Credit Union League and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA).
The award-winning entry showcased DCCU’s Net Promoter Score® (NPS) program, which regularly surveys members about their experiences with the credit union.
Through this process, DCCU is able to gain greater insight into how they can better serve their members. DCCU’s NPS® program attempts to “close the loop” by contacting members whose surveys warrant follow-up, based on their comments. Following up with members allows DCCU’s NPS® Call Team the opportunity to answer any questions and educate members about products and services that might be beneficial to them. Over the years, DCCU has incorporated many suggestions provided by members through survey responses.
“We appreciate the invaluable feedback that our members provide,” said DCCU President/CEO Gerald Hershey. “We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and our survey program helps us gain better insight into our members’ perspective, which often leads to positive enhancements for our organization.”
The competition is named after Louise McCarren Herring, a credit union pioneer, who believed that the operational application of credit union philosophy helped better people’s lives.
